A degree in social work allows graduates to enter the field of clinical social work or community organizations, in order to advance in their profession. The Occupational Outlook Handbook issued by the US Department of Labor states that social working employment will increase, from now through 2010, at a quicker pace than the average of all professions. This is a result of the baby boom era coming to its sunset years, and requiring more social aid.
