School Counseling |
|
A School Counseling or Psychology Degree will enable professionals to give advice relating to educational matters at the elementary, middle and high school levels. The counselors are more aligned with curriculum advice and career planning, and the psychologists usually handle specific concerns with students, behavioral issues, and Special Education needs. Parents, teachers and other academic personnel are also consulted and taught lessons on parenting, behavioral problems and health issues by school psychologists. A school counselor requires less schooling than a psychologist. Usually a master degree is required, and some states will even prefer a PhD in successful candidates.
