There are many ways that professionals can distinguish themselves in the booming tech industry, and one of the most respected ways is by pursuing a Microsoft Certification. These are recognized by Microsoft as equipping the professional with software skills needed to operate their products. There are several specializations within this category of certification, including Microsoft Certified Systems Administrators, Microsoft Certified Solution Developers and Microsoft Certified Database Administrators. Several exams must be passed in order for graduates to complete their certification training. These exams all focus on Microsoft software, applications and operating systems, while testing database and software development skills. There are three new levels of certification that Microsoft has recently added to its certification program, all falling under the umbrella of the New Generation of Certification: the Professional Series, the Architect Series and the Technology Series. Certificates are usually obtained while a professional is already working within their field of specialization, in order to advance their knowledge and job prospects. Depending on the certificate, education level and work experience of the graduate, salaries can range from between $65,000 to over $85,000 per year.
