A professional who has the title of a Microsoft Certified Solution Developer, or MCSD, has attained the highest certification available for Microsoft software. As this certification is very demanding, students are required to have at least two years worth of related work experience. There are four required “core” exams and one elective exam that must be passed in order to obtain this certificate. The four main exams cover Windows application development, web application development, solution architecture and other broad topics. Professionals with this certificate often find job placement as a software engineer, developer or application analyst.
