A professional in the field of forensic psychology is an expert at applying psychology to legal matters, through analyzing police reports, gathering together hospital records, collecting witness statements and administering some standard psychological tests. Professionals are also skilled at combining both aspects of psychology and legal practices to cases, including issues dealing with child abuse, criminal responsibility, custody battles and aiding judges in issuing sentences. In most cases, a Forensic Psychologist will have a Master or Doctorate Degree in Psychology as well as some proven specialization in Forensic Psychology.
