An assistant to an occupational therapist has a large role to play in the rehabilitation and physical health of patients, and has many of the same responsibilities as an occupational therapist. Together, the two professionals work to ensure that patients with physical and psychological illness are diagnosed and treated, in order for them to rebuild their physical capabilities.
