PhD in Education |
|
The terminal degree for an education specialist is the PhD. It requires a previous degree, usually a Masters, as well as several years of experience in the teaching field. There is much variety within this broad degree, and anyone within the teaching field, from teachers to administrators, may choose to pursue a specialized PhD in a field of interest, such as special education or health education. The most common careers pursued after obtaining a PhD in education are those at the university level, whether they are more research intensive in a lab setting, or academic in a classroom setting.
