Some aspects of a biomedical engineer’s responsibilities include medical instrument design and software creation for medical analysis and treatment. A common path towards biomedical engineering is a college program in either engineering or biomedical engineering. Other possible majors include chemical, computer or electrical engineering with a focus on biomedical engineering. To obtain the positions which offer the most research possibilities, students will often choose to engage in graduate-level studies in biomedical engineering.
